Catalogue Raisonné

The Estate of David Smith is preparing a new catalogue raisonné of the artist's sculpture for publication. We have also created a database of information and images documenting paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, ceramics and jewelry created by Smith. The Estate would be grateful to receive inquiries and information from individuals and institutions that wish to propose sculptures for inclusion in the catalogue raisonné or who own works by David Smith in other media.

Please Help Us Locate These "Lost" Sculptures!

The Estate is seeking to contact the owners of a number of David Smith sculptures, or works attributed to David Smith, whose whereabouts are currently unknown. Many of these have been missing for decades, and the Estate may not have photographs or adequate information for an entry in the new catalogue.

Please help us work toward our aim to represent each piece to its best advantage. If you have any information about the current or past ownership of these works, we would appreciate hearing from you. All information will be handled in accordance with the owner's wishes, and will be kept strictly confidential by request.
